Ozodrop

Protective and Lubricating ophthalmic solution for adults and children

OZODROP® is a protective, lubricating, moisturising and soothing ophthalmic solution for the ocular surface, with LipozonEye (ozonated vegetable oil, soy phospholipids) and hypromellose, useful for:

  • protection before and after eye surgery
  • the treatment of symptoms related to inflammation, also of infectious origin;
  • promoting restorative processes after traumatic or surgical stress;
  • the treatment of dry eye, including irritation caused by environmental conditions or mechanical stress, such as wearing contact lenses.

Thanks to its ozonated oil and liposomes, OZODROP® reduces the ability of bacteria to form a biofilm and promotes their breakdown. The biofilm is a natural defence mechanism that bacteria put in place, which can form on the ocular surface, especially in the case of abrasions and trauma, or on contact lenses. Removing the biofilm creates an unfavourable environment for the proliferation of bacteria, making them more susceptible to both the eye’s natural defences and to antibiotics, which reduces inflammatory symptoms caused by bacteria.

Vegetable oil and liposomes support the stabilisation of the lipid layer of the tear film, reducing the evaporation of the aqueous layer and ensuring immediate relief for eyes.

The vegetable oil used is ozonated and therefore self-preserved, it is made more bioavailable and biotolerable by the insertion into liposomes.

Indications

OZODROP® is indicated as a support:

  • as part of prophylaxis before and after surgery (e.g., cataracts, intravitreal injections, etc.); in particular, application is recommended three days before surgery
  • in cases of inflammatory diseases of the cornea (keratitis) and conjunctiva (conjunctivitis), including those of infectious origin (from bacteria, viruses, fungi)
  • in antibiotic therapy, in both adults and children
  • in cases of abrasions, corneal trauma, use of contact lenses
  • in cases of alterations of the ocular surface due to instability of the tear film, also in patients with recurrent eye infections.
